Now, Wegmans has heightened its profile in The Big Apple and it looks well worth the road trip from The Hudson Valley.
It's called Next Door and it's Wegmans sophisticated new dining experience located in New York City's East Village. Inside Astor Place, Next Door is high-end Japanese restaurant where you can also nosh on caviar and champagne, according to Food & Wine.
The interior of Next Door is reportedly posh Art Deco-inspired and borders on romantic with its velvet banquettes and golden accents and looks positively gorgeous and very Manhattan-worthy.

The menu is contemporary Japanese and curated by chefs Oliver Lange, John Emerson, and Kazuya Matsuoka. The restaurant boasts a sushi counter, champagne and oyster bar, and a robata grill, NY Post reports. With only the freshest ingredients sourced from Tokyo's Toyosu Fish Market, New Zealand, and Norway, dishes like chu-toro tartare, uni sea urchin, koji-marinated ribeye, and king salmon pâté are premium and inventive.
Hungry now? Next Door is open Monday through Saturday. The champagne and caviar bar is available from 4p-11p. Dinner is served from 5p-11p. Reservations are recommended.
