Mahopac High School senior Maya Rejman achieved a perfect score on the 2024 Advanced Placement Art and Design portfolio exam, a rare distinction. She also received a Silver Key in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, showcasing her talent and dedication. Rejman's work, reflecting on her experiences as a first-generation Polish immigrant, explores themes of family, culture, and identity. Despite the challenges of creating her portfolio, Rejman's art blends technical skill with personal narratives, earning praise from her teacher and school principal. After graduation, she plans to pursue her passion for art at Boston University's College of Fine Arts.
