It's the first Monday in May and that means it's Met Gala Monday.
What Is The Met Gala?
If you're a New Yorker and/or a fashionista and/or celebrity-obsessed you already know the Met Gala is THE can't miss fashion event of the year. There's no other red carpet like it. But if you want to dive a little deeper into its tradition and importance than here ya go.
Also known as the Costume Institute Benefit, The Met Gala serves as an annual fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute. It's a glamorous party with an invitation-only guest list that celebrates the opening of the Costume Institute's annual exhibition. The event is famous for its star-studded attendees (all personally selected by Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour) and elaborate themed dress code.

What Is the 2025 Met Gala Theme?
This year's theme is "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style." The Met's museum display will reportedly draw inspiration from Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book, Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity.
What Celebrities You Should Expect to Attend
This year's Met Gala guest chairs are musician/producer Pharrell Williams, rapper and Rihanna's beau A$AP Rocky, Oscar-winning actor Colman Domingo and race car driver Lewis Hamilton with NBA legend LeBron James serving as honorary chairperson.
In addition, the host committee includes gymnast Simone Biles and her pro football husband Jonathan Owens, WNBA's Angel Reese, track & field star Sha’Carri Richardson, director Spike Lee, actresses Regina King, Ayo Edebiri, and Audra McDonald, singer/actor Jeremy Pope, singers Doechii, Usher, Tyla, Janelle Monáe, and Outkasts's André 3000.
There are also the usual suspects such as Kim and Khloe Kardashian and Kris, Kendall, and Kylie Jenner, Jennifer Lopez, and Hailey Bieber who I expect made the guest list again.

FYI...the 2025 Met Gala has already made history, according to E! News, raising $31 million before the event has even officially begun.
