AMC Theatres is introducing a new midweek discount I fully intend on taking advantage of this summer.

On Wednesdays, starting July 9th, you can see a movie for 50 percent off! The discount reportedly applies to adult ticket prices. But why Wednesdays? That day of the week is traditionally is traditionally slower for movie theaters but a half-off offer is certainly a compelling offer to take in a midweek flick.

I love the idea of keeping a Wednesday movie date with myself this summer. And I do prefer to see films, especially summer blockbusters, IN the theater. But getting your movie passes for half their usual prices on Wednesday requires a step beyond just going to the ticket counter. You'll want to make sure to become an AMC Stubs member first. Yeah, it's annoying to have to sign up for another rewards program, but AMC's is SO worth it. When you build up points you can get discounts on concessions among other perks.

Keep in mind that the 50% off Wednesday discount applies to base ticket prices and does not cover surcharges for premium formats like IMAX or 3D at AMC's throughout The Hudson Valley, but it's still a great bargain.
