Now that we're more than halfway through 2026, we thought it would be fun to take a look at what baby names have been trending. And it's been out with the short, in with the long. We're seeing fewer single and double-syllable monikers in favor of multi-syllable names like Seraphina and Aurelio.
According to the researchers at BabyCenter, new data shows that after decades of shrinking name lengths parents-to-be are headed in the opposite direction when deciding what to call their baby. Longer names are reportedly even trendier among GenBeta parents.
Looking at BabyCenter's most recent analysis of the top 100 baby names, here are the 12 girl and 12 boy names trending the hottest in New York.
