Normally I would say that when it comes to celebrities lawsuits can be very opportunistic, but there's one man from The Hudson Valley that I think actually has a leg to stand on.

For years now, pretty much since she started expressing interest in practicing law and following in the footsteps of her late father Robert, Kim Kardashian's platform has been prison reform and, most notably, freeing the wrongfully incarcerated. So, how did Yorktown, New York resident Ivan Cantu get caught mixed up in all that?

Well, to make a long story short, Kim created a post for Instagram seeking justice for a death row inmate in Texas by the name of, you guessed it, Ivan Cantu. Accidentally, according to Kim's attorney, Kardashian included a photo of Westchester County's Ivan Cantu...and he wants her to pay for her mistake.

Cantu is taking the reality star and Skims mogul to civil court and asking for punitive compensation for libel and slander, injury to his reputation and career, and severe emotional distress and anguish, News 12 Westchester reports.

Okay, so maybe the Yorktown Ivan Cantu got embarrassed and his feelings hurt, but I actually think he has a right to overreact. Although Kim Kardashian's legal representation claims the IG post incorrectly featuring Cantu was taking down almost immediately after being published, we all know that in the age of social media, by that point, the damage is already done. The post was sent out into the Kim Kardashian fan universe which consists of 375 million followers on Instagram alone.

I have a feeling we're going to see this matter settled out of court. I'll keep you posted.
