A spur of the moment decision brought me to the amazing Stony Kill Farm off Route 9D in Fishkill. The 750 acre property is operated by New York State and includes farm animals and community gardens. It's open every day from sunrise to sunset...and its free...you just drive in!

I highly recommend you take your family there and of course there are plenty of programs offered depending on the time of year.
