A 4th grader from Hopewell Junction is really making waves in the world of golf!

Just days ago, Mario Vilardi took the top spot in the 'Drive, Chip, Putt' regional qualifier event, which took place in Paramus, NJ.

That's a big win for the young athlete, not just because he's all of 10 years old, but because it's now earned him a spot in a highly-prestigious golf tournament.

According to News12 Westchester, Vilardi gets to participate in Masters one week before the pro golfers take the green at Augusta in Georgia.

Mario Vilardi will clearly be a local talent we'll want to watch, not just as he looks to conquer the junior field of golf at Masters, but in the future! He's clearly got a very exciting path ahead of him.
