HVGCC Awarding 10 Deserving Hudson Valley High Schoolers with Scholarships

With the cost of college growing every school year (reportedly a mind-blowing 141% since 2005), Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce says they remain committed to investing in the futures of local students, and every little bit helps. On Thursday, June 12th, the HVGCC will host a special scholarship award ceremony honoring some very talented, dedicated, and deserving students Holy Mountain Franciscan Retreat Center in Garrison.

The HVGCC Scholarship Awards Breakfast will be held at Holy Mountain Franciscan Retreat Center in Garrison and celebrate 10 high schoolers from all over the region as they each receive $1,500 towards their higher education.

The event will reportedly bring together elected officials, school administrators, and local business leaders along with the recipients and their families.

The 10 outstanding high school students receiving HVGCC scholarships are:

  • Sean Carrol, Putnam Valley HS
  • Ava Costello, Yorktown HS
  • Kendall Gilliard, Putnam Valley HS
  • Christina Gogola, Lakeland HS
  • Oakley Gougelmann, Hendrick Hudson HS
  • Tristan Moore, Croton-Harmon HS
  • Beatrice Pelayo, Walter Panas HS
  • D'Andre South, Peekskill HS
  • Rachel Velasquez, Peekskill HS
