Now 129 years old, the town hall, and its theater, is set to undergo a $4 million renovation.

Home to The Cultural Arts Coalition, Old Town Hall is an affordable attraction and historic landmark that showcases local artists and musicians. According to Southeast, NY - Historic on Facebook, Old Town Hall was Brewster’s first movie theater, even showing silent films as far back as 1913! It also hosted traveling acting troupes who gave live performances on the weekends. As of 2023, The Old Town Hall Theatricals, a nonprofit theater group, brought entertainment back to the hall's theater stage and continues to put on plays and musicals.

Very soon, Southeast Old Town Hall can be enjoyed with the benefit of heating, which has been lacking since last year, and air conditioning, something the hall has never had.

In addition to a new HVAC system, the building will also have an elevator installed to make it more accessible, News 12 Westchester reports.

We can't wait to see how great the hall will look once its makeover is complete.
