Goshen Community in Mourning After Father, Sons Die in House Fire

Flames broke out at a home along Pulaski Highway in Goshen just after 8 p.m. Saturday night. The blaze left a father and his two sons trapped inside and unable to escape, PIX 11 reports.

By the time First Responders arrived to the scene, including Town of Goshen Police Department, NY State Police, numerous fire departments and EMS agencies from around Orange County, the house was already engulfed in flames. It quickly grew to multiple alarms, according to Goshen Fire Department, requiring the assistance of fire department from Florida, Pine Island, Warwick, Slate Hill, Chester, Johnson, and Unionville.

Tragically, the fire claimed the lives of 50-year-old Shane Munn and both his juvenile sons, ages 17 and 12. The cause of the fire is under investigation by multiple agencies. The community and first responders are mourning the loss and offering support to the family during this difficult time. 

Along with local agencies, State Police Monroe Bureau of Investigations (BCI) and Orange County Medical Examiners Office have also stepped in to determine the cause of the fire and death of the three victims.
