Happy to celebrate these young people in Putnam County...thanks as always to Jessica Medoff for keeping me in the Brewster loop!
BHS NJROTC Earns “Distinguished Unit with Honors” Designation for Fourth Consecutive Year
The Brewster High School NJROTC program has once again been recognized for its excellence, earning the prestigious “Distinguished Unit with Honors” designation for 2026. This marks the fourth consecutive year the program has received this honor.
Among 30 schools in Area 1, Brewster ranked third, placing it in the top 10 percent of more than 600 Navy JROTC units worldwide. The designation represents the highest level of recognition awarded to NJROTC programs.
NJROTC units are evaluated annually and may receive one of three distinctions: Unit Achievement Award (top 50 percent), Distinguished Unit (top 30 percent), and Distinguished Unit with Honors (top 20 percent).
The continued success of the Brewster program reflects the dedication, leadership, and discipline demonstrated by its cadets, as well as the commitment of its instructors and the support of families and the school community
