Meet the WHUD DJs – Bruce Owens

As a part time fill in, I can’t give you a set time to tune in and hear me play “One Great Song After Another” on WHUD.  But I can tell you I’m very glad to be at WHUD.  There are so many familiar faces here.  For example, I worked with Tom Furci at Mt. Kisco’s WVIP in the 80’s where I was program director and mid-day host.  In 1990, I was waking up Bridgeport, Connecticut on WEZN when I was offered a dream job, the chance to do the same for the Big Apple on Clifton, New Jersey WPAT.  I got chills now remembering that the World Trade Center Towers could be seen from the station parking lot.  Andy Bale and Steve Jordan also worked at WPAT at the time. (See what I mean by familiar faces!)  In 1996, it was on to WDRC in Connecticut’s capital city, Hartford.  Now here I am at the Hudson Valley’s music station, continuing a career that began at Danbury, Connecticut’s WINE/I-95 in the ‘70’s.  In fact, Danbury has been my home for many years after  growing up in Brewster, New York.  I attended Western Connecticut State College and have a daughter, Nikki.  My hobbies include; playing guitar, fishing and listening to all kinds of music.   I hope to see you soon on the radio on 100.7 WHUD!
