Weekdays 10:00AM - 2:00PM
Hi! And thank YOU for listening to 100.7 WHUD! I am a New York native born in Brooklyn, raised on Long Island, and currently live in Westchester. My radio career is much like my life it’s been spent all in New York! I began in Middletown, NY, at WALL AM/FM for an internship through my alma mater, St. John’s University, and I was offered a job! From there, I worked behind the scenes at WOR Radio in New York, and for awhile, took a break from radio to work in TV at HBO. Radio was my passion, so I returned to the airwaves full time in 1983 at WVIP AM-FM in Mount Kisco, NY. You name it, I probably did it while I was there (except the windows!). Then in 1993, I was fortunate to join the WHUD family as your Midday host. From the Office of the Day phone calls to the Lunch Break with your requests, it’s been a most incredibly fun time! Also, because I love to do research and write, I’ve produced several programs for the station, including WHUD’s Top 100.7 Songs of the Year, and all our holiday weekend specials too.
In 1997, I was named WHUD’s Music Director which means I do the daily scheduling of music. That job has lead to several industry awards. The first was in 2000 when I was named Music Director/Assistant Program Director at the Gavin Convention. Two more Gavin Awards followed. And in 2003, I was named Billboard Magazine’s Music Director of the Year, which was quite a surprise! I have also received previous nominations from Radio and Records, the other premiere radio industry newspaper; and locally, New York Air Award nominations for Best Midday show, and Best Syndicated Show for “Magic of the 80’s”, the program I’ve hosted since July 2000. “Magic” is the two hour show you hear on WHUD Sunday mornings from 9 to 11 AM. It also airs on stations in Hawaii, Maine, Vermont, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
In my spare time (I can hear my wife, Maryrose laughing about that!), I enjoy reading mystery novels, watching baseball, bowling, board games, spending time with family and friends, and naturally, listening to (and collecting) music! Thanks again for being part of the WHUD family, and drop me an e-mail sometime!
