"How do you get up so EARLY"? That's a question I hear often.
Actually - I love seeing the stars and enjoying the silence of early morning..
Leaving Berto and Bela?...THAT can be tough! And yes, they look this cute EVERY morning...
Reading Business Week recently I learned that Americans spent 41 billion dollars on pampering and outfitting our pets last year. 41 Billion Dollars. That's up 50% from a decade ago. Are our pets any happier? When Berto wears his pug sized NY Yankees #2 jersey - he's doing it just to please ME.
A walk in the woods - wearing only his collar and a smile would please HIM.
And...I know what you're thinking - Why was I reading Business Week?! Well...I was in the waiting room of Hudson Valley Hospital's radiology department awaiting my mamogram on the new digital machine. Liz was great and the process took all of 6 minutes. There has been a sharp decrease in the number of women getting mamograms. Why? Because there has been greater life expectancy for those diagnosed with breast cancer. Why? Because of early detection through mamography! Go. Ask your mom, sister, wife and friends to take care of themselves too. This is the season when we can support one another and walk for cure. Support Connection's Support -a-Walk is Sunday, September 30th at FRD State Park - www.supportconnection.org. The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk is Sunday, October 21 at Woodbury Common - www.cancer.org/stridesonline.
Thanks to everyone who came out to have some fun at E Restaurant and Lounge in Mount Kisco...we should do that more often....I think it's good for the soul.
The warm start to autumn has been inspiring! I'm making my reservations for the Great Jack O Latern Blaze in Croton - www.hudsonvalley.org. I hear it's so beautiful...
Speaking of beauty - from Eckhart Tolle's book The Power of Now - "Do not pollute your beautiful, radiant inner being nor the Earth with negativity. Do not give unhappiness in any form whatsoever a dwelling place in you."
Sounds like a plan.
