Something's Cooking!

Stacey Hawkins, brilliant and beautiful, is the Time Savor Gourmet.
I was a guest on her cooking show, filmed in her home on the Hudson. See the show June 7th at 6 PM on Time Warner Cable Channel 6 at 6 PM. We made heathly brownies - with prune baby food! Stuffed Talapia and a marinade for London Broil. Really! You'll love her spices and easy recipes at www.timesavorgourmet.comThe

Thanks Stacey! I've been living on oat cereal, green salad and rice pasta for years. Now, I'm dating Mike, who aside from being a fantastic carpenter, is an amazing chef! IF I ever knew anything about cooking, I forgot it the minute he turned on my burners. The first meal he made me last summer - chicken stuffed with eggplant and a mushroom risotto - made me and my DOG weep. Berto had never smelled delicious aromas like that in his little doggy life!

Oh - speaking of doggies - have you seen the video of Tara and Luke from Cold Spring? http://youtube.com/watch?v=9BUsfQQVyF4 (or just Google Youtube Luke and Tara) It may bring a happy tear to your eye too...

Have a Lovely and Delicious Summer!

Taking it all in....

Walking to work this morning...along the beach...through the trees...crescent moon over head...tree frogs, black birds and mourning doves in full symphony...surf softling rising and falling...taking in every sight and sound feeling every breeze..feeling fully every moment...
And now, sitting in our broadcast gazebo watching the ocean turn from grey to pink to turquoise as the sun ignites our last vacation day in Barbados....Can you feel my SMILE? It's all good...

Thursday!

First of all - I did NOT play Shady Lane Country Club yesterday - I played SANDY Lane.
I really need to pay more attention!

Today - I laughed myself silly. Pool Volley Ball - Men agains the women - the women had to pause to several times for various reasons - once to sing Rain Drops Keep Falling On My Head. It wasn't raining. The women are claiming victory.

Sitting in the glorious open air lobbey now with ELaine and Tony, Barb and Sal, Jim and Cyd, Lisa and Mary, Dan and Sue, Nancy and Charlie...they are getting ready to say goodbye.

No doubt there will be tears. Truly...if I could have chosen traveling partners - I would have chosen this group - each one full of life and love and JOY.

Almond Resort in Barbados. We would come back.
Still another night and day to go...

MonkeyMadness!

WHAT A DAY!!!!!!!!!

Today we played Shady Lane Country Club - that's where the big boys play.
I am not a big boy.

Mike shot an 89 - he's awesome.
I shot 143 - and that doesn't count the 17th hole when I didn't get out of the cart.
Couldn't move.

This course is like a trip to the zoo - if the zoo was in a botanical garden and the garden was overlooking the ocean. It was so gorgeous it was distracting. THAT's why I kept lifting my head! FRANGIPANI that's the name of the flower the little white and yellow flowers that have five tiny outstreched arms....they were everywhere. The colors and the breeze and the FAIRWAYS! They were as lush and green as the outfield at Yankee Stadium.

It was round about the fourth hole I noticed the MONKEYS in the TREES! I bet they play better than I do!

Golf. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh...

Now - it was Charlie and Nancy who went 4 wheeling yesterday - NOT Elaine and Tony - THEY went to an Almond sister resort with SUE AND DAN! Saw them for dinner last night seaside! ...Had pizza with Elaine and Tony this afternoon - I could talk to them forever.

Lisa, Mary, Joe and Debbie walked into town with Maryellen.
Sal and Barbara kept watch over Mike in the pool!

AND BY THE WAY!
It rained here for a while today.

I hope that makes you enjoy YOUR sunshine all the more.

Remind me to tell you about the skinny cats.

OK......

So...you know that "for you - about you" Almond Resort motto I was talking about yesterday?
Well, we decided to give it another go!

It's amazing...I missed so many COLORS yesterday....
Today on the golf course...my shoulders were much farther away from my ears...
My Mike is such an amazing coach...
And I noticed the flowers...hibiscus? Orange, yellow, red...
Saw a mongoose on the 7th hole!
Hit some gorgeous shots....did not hit the mongoose.

Later - under the tree, by the beach - I was in charge of watching the clouds.
I did a great job.
Did you know they come in SEVERAL shades of white?

Now here I am at happy hour cyber cafe and there are periwinkle flowers that were NOT here yesterday! Or were they?...my senses seem to be coming alive.

Speaking of coming alive! The WHUD beach gang found great pleasure in a frosty coconut drink....I'm not mentioning names....

Elaine went somewhere on a bus! She called to me as they pulled away - I think she said she and Tony were going 4 wheeling?! I have to find out more...

Charlie and Nancy were resting up after their night of dancing at the Habor Lights Party...

Barb and Sal are getting ready cheecks! I cannot tell you how...

And there are a few more people I have to check up on ...we are all getting together in minutes...for the Managers Cocktail Party by the Fountain in the Courtyard....

Next time...come with us!

And OH! celebrity sighting! - Rob - one of the winners from one of the Amazing Races is here...just checked in today....I haven't seen him...wouldn't know it if I did...but Mike is going to loose his mind.
He loves that show! Maybe we can get him on the air in the morning...

See you then..

For You...About You

The Almond Resort motto is For you, About you...we decided to try that out today -

After the radio show - we played 9 holes of golf and hit the pin on my second swing on the second hole: TINK! Love that sound...

After...it was lunch - mahi mahi and Ceasar's salad - and then...we found a tree...on the beach...and sat...with an Ipod full of Ella and the new Henry Beecher Ward biography in my lap: read, sleep, listen, swim, repeat.

Having done all that for several hours - we needed a real nap. :) Refreshed - we're off to dinner.
Sun has set. Breezes are warm.

Greetings from Barbados!

Hey Mon -

Welcome to the Islands...sitting under a tree in the courtyard at Almond Resorts in Barbados sipping a vino by the water fountain....The flight was great - the Island is beautiful - but so far - what I love MOST is the PEOPLE!

Joe and Debbie WON their trip here! Debbie and I have a history of fun! When we saw Tony Bennett on the TODAY show together - she brought a poster of Matt Lauer in a bathing suit that she made from a photo she found in People magazine - Matt loved it!

AND... Aunt Barbara and Motorcyle Sal - friends that I don't get to see enough of - so glad they are here. Lisa and Mary are best friends since Kindergarten who see each other only 3 times a year - they are honoring their friendship and it's great to see them enjoying their time together! Cyd and Jim are
busdrivers and animals lovers and so much fun to talk to! Nancy is going to be hard to keep up with - she just moved back to NY from California - and she and Charlie were already in the ocean, pool and to the bar before I ever got my shorts on.

Poor Sue - her boss told her she had too many vacations day stored up - so she grabbed her husband Dan and came on down. They were the first to get into their room...ahhhh VACATION!

Elaine and Tony and the Mango Moose - that was the dessert we had at lunch - can't wait to see them at dinner!

Oh and there is a delicious beach - where we saw a glorious sunset...but to me - it's the people...that make the trip!

Mike and Maryellen Bennett are planing lots of excursions, you'll hear all about it....

Me and my Mike? We're thinking about ordering another vino and taking a stroll in the twilight.

WISH YOU WERE HERE.

LOVE -
Kc
